Question by irekforpresident: Home Audio Polk Subwoofer Wiring through the Walls Help?
Ok, we just moved our furniture around in our living room. I have a 10” Powered Polk audio sub. The subwoofer is now on the opposite side of the room from the reciever. The receiver is an Onkyo. I want to run the Sub-out through the walls and up through the attic to reach the sub. Do I run just a normal RCA cable, or is there a special type I have to use. When the sub was next to the receiver, I had a monster cable sub line, but as we all know, we are just buying the name “monster cable”. Any suggestions???? Also, does anybody make an RCA outlet cover??? Thanks!

I could tell but I would have to kill you, jk. Anyhow its quite the process to explain here. There are some great DIY guides for running wires of any type through walls.
Yes, you can run a basic RCA cable. The best thing to do for that kind of distance is running coax cable with RCA connections on the end.
Yes you the make RCA outlet covers. Wholesale Electronics companies have many, but you should be able to find everything you need for this project at a local Radio Shack with the exception of a few tools.
Or you could just hire an installer… like me, lol.
Good luck, for any more details just email me. I have owned a home theater business.
