Pioneer Ts-A1702C 6.5-Inch A-Series 250-Watt Component PackageThis 6-3/4-inch component system from Pioneer delivers 230 Watts of maximum power (50 Watts nominal), and offers the flexibility and improved soundstage of a component installation. The IMPP woofer cone design provides the rigidity required for powerful bass. The soft-dome tweeters can be flush- or surface-mounted, and can be swiveled to suit the listening environment once installed. The included crossovers ensure a smooth response from both speakers.

Pioneer’s A-Series Speakers

Butyl Rubber Surrounds
Durable butyl rubber speaker surrounds won’t fall apart under the stress of extreme temperatures, sunlight or time, and help Pioneer’s woofers deliver serious bass.

Solid Construction
A-Series speakers are easy to install and built to last. From rock-solid cone construction to a heavy-duty, ultra-thick, stamped steel basket, these drivers are ready to handle booming bass and high volumes with ease.

High-Quality Crossover
The External -12dB/Octave HPF and LPF crossover improves the transition from mid to high frequency, for a smoother mid-range to tweeter response. Audiophile-grade capacitors and inductors are used, and all components are encased in a clear acrylic cover for protection.

Fits 6″x8″ Applications
The included 6″x8″ adapter allows this component set to also be used in many Ford and Mazda vehicles that feature a 6″x8″ speaker application size.

Water-Resistant Cones
Water-resistant cones prevent sound-quality deterioration caused by moisture. Door mounting is possible without further protection.

Rubber Surrounds
The rolled edge of the diaphragm provides superior response, while its butyl material is highly durable and moisture resistant. The result is a special rubber surround that cuts distortion and further improves linearity.

Powerful Strontium Magnet for Dynamic Bass Response
A high-conductivity magnet is used in Clarion’s speaker systems to obtain an airgap magnetic flux density significantly higher than that obtained from ferrite magnets. Combining this magnet with the heat-resistant voice coil results in speakers that are able to deliver powerful playback at large inputs with improved damping while maintaining the integrity of the digital source.

Rear-Vented Pole Piece
To prevent pressure from building up inside the center cap and causing increased amplitude distortion, a vent is provided on the rear of the pole piece, resulting in completely smooth cone movement, which contributes to the open, airy sound of the speakers.

3/4-Inch Pure Soft Dome Tweeter with Neodymium Magnet
For superb sound reproduction, Clarion’s ProAudio tweeters utilizes a Dual Neodymium magnet, which boasts extremely high magnetic energy–approximately 10 times that of typical ferrite magnets. With a magnetic influx density that far surpasses conventional speakers, the neodymium magnet also reduces magnetic distortion and touts high energy efficiency.

Two-Way Mounting Tweeter (Variable Angle / Surface Mounting)
Unlike conventional 2-way speakers, these feature a tweeter that is adjustable for angle and can be aimed for precise high frequency imaging. When coaxial speakers are mounted in the most common door locations, the high frequencies are beamed at the driver and passenger’s feet, reducing high frequency response and spatial imaging. By changing the angle so that the tweeter sends high frequencies to the listener’s ears, high frequency response is increased, and spatial imaging is dramatically improved.

Plus One woofer cones
This patent pending technology deliver a cone with more surface area than competing models of the same size. The result is increased bass output and higher efficiency.

Rubber surrounds
This woofer surround material provides optimum cone-edge suspension and absorbs distortions that may travel up the cone edge, adding stronger low-end.

True Four Ohms
All Reference speakers feature two ohm voice coils. Original factory-installed speaker wiring in many cars is 18-22 gauge. This wire, and heating in the voice coil when power is applied, increase the impedance “seen” by the amplifier or head unit. The impedance of Reference Speakers has been adjusted to compensate for this increase and can be safely driven by any head unit.

Edge-driven textile dome tweeter
These are not commonly used w-domes, but fully-edge-driven domes like those found in better home audio speakers. The benefit is increased power handling and reduced distortion at high output levels. This technology also allows for better integration with the mid/woofer.

Crossover network with tweeter adjustment
Each Infinity Reference component system includes a pair of laboratory optimized passive crossover networks that include tweeter adjustment. If the tweeters are located low in the doors or if you are looking for a brighter sound, you can set the tweeter at +3dB.
